Title: String/Gauge Duality: (re)discovering the QCD String in AdS Space Speaker: Richard C. Brower, Boston University Abstract: The original attempt to formulate the nuclear forces as a string theory was based on strong experimental and theoretical evidence. However it failed to include the hard parton features which ultimately led to Quantum Chromodynamics (aka QCD). This talk will explain how the recent "string counter revolution" of Maldacena may resolve these difficulties by placing a fundamental superstring in an Anti-deSitter (AdS) like warped 5th dimension. The lattice solution to Yang-Mills spectra will be used to support this picture
