The talk will be as general and non technical as possible.
Under the principles put forward by Einstein, GR is a unique
theory in 4 dimensions. I will explain how and why Einstein's
gravity theory is not unique in higher dimensions and what is
the unique consistent gravity theory in the 5 dimensional case.
I'll be making some connection to string theory and brane cosmology.
