Francois Englert (Universite Libre de Bruxelles) "ON THE INFINITE KAC-MOODY SYMMETRY OF (SUPER)GRAVITY"
ABSTRACT:
Results in agreement with an assumed E11-E10 Kac-Moody symmetry of 11D supergravity (and beyond) are presented. It is shown that each real root of the subalgebra E9 determines a BPS 8-brane. These branes form infinite representations of the U-duality group of 11D supergravity (and of its exotics counterparts). Their metrics and 3-form potentials are evaluated explicitly. Other real roots of E10 give rise to solutions which transcend 11D supergravity.
