Peter J. Hirschfeld

Distinguished Professor of Physics


Peter Hirschfeld received his Ph.D. in physics from Princeton University in 1985 and held postdoctoral research appointments at the Technical University of Munich and Stanford University before joining the faculty at the University of Florida in 1988. He has also served as visiting professor for a semester or more at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, University of Augsburg, University of Paris-Sud, Stanford University and the University of Frankfurt since then. He has supervised 13 Ph.D. students and taught physics at all levels.
