suggestions
These are suggestions you might consider for journal club
presentations, taken from the publications of the UF condensed
matter theory and experiment faculty. Remember your first reaction when you look
at any of these papers will very likely be "I don't understand
anything". Don't panic. Try to track down some of the keywords
in textbooks or wikipedia, talk to your research advisor, one of the UF authors on the paper, or to me. With a little
background you will be able to start reading. Try to read to the
end without attempting to understand every word in the paper, just
the essence of what is being done or described. This is the key to
being able to approach your research literature.
