In this course we cover a variety of material about electric charges and fields, circuits, magnetism, and optics. The picture you see above is a femtosecond Titanium Sapphire laser, one of the most modern applications of the concepts of electricity and magnetism. The Titanium Sapphire laser (this one is located in my laboratory in the Physics Department) produces pulses of light 10-14 seconds in duration (13 zeros in front of the 1!). These laser pulses are amongst the shortest available and are used for a variety of experiments in physics and chemistry. | ||
