Rick has been a Professor of Physics at the University of Florida since 1980 (Rick's Homepage). Before that he was an Associate Professor at CALTECH in Pasadena, California. He has a wife and three children. Rick's wife, Jimmie, teaches the Enrichment Program at Talbot Elementary School (grades 1-3). Rick's son Jason is a graduate student at the University of Arizona in Tucson. His daughter Aimee is a fourth year student at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. His youngest daughter, Amanda, is a junior at Eastside High School in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program.
Rick spent nine years at the
University of California
at Berkeley, where he received his B.S. degree in 1966 and his Ph.D.
degree in 1971. He met my wife Jimmie when he was a freshman
at Berkeley and they got married in 1966 when he was a senior. They
have had a very happy marriage for over 30 years!
