Mark Sheplak
- Research at the Interdisciplinary Microsystems Group focuses on the design and analysis of Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS). MEMS are an extension of microelectronics technology that incorporates mechanical, optical, fluidic, acoustical, and biological systems using semiconductor-processing technology. MEMS technology is used in the creation of micro-scale sensors and actuators. Typical applications are ink-jet printer heads, accelerometers, and microfluidic pumps.
