International Summer Research Program in Gravitational-Wave Physics:
Research Experiences for Undergraduates around the world

Monash University
Contact: Dr. Eric Thrane
Located in Melbourne--a city regularly hailed as the most livable in the world--Monash is one of the top universities in Australia and home to a thriving and dynamic School of Physics. Monash faculty, Drs. Eric Thrane, Yuri Levin, and Duncan Galloway, work on a wide range of gravitational-wave science with LIGO including data analysis, detector noise characterization, and multimessenger astronomy. The School also boasts a strong theoretical astrophysics group. Student researchers will work with LIGO data to develop and carry out searches for gravitational waves. In the process, students will gain experience with high-throughput computing, Bayesian statistics, and astrophysics.
