International Summer Research Program in Gravitational-Wave Physics:
Research Experiences for Undergraduates around the world


Thanks to all those who have expressed an interest in our program. We will soon be accepting applications for Summer, 2024. Due to the long lead time required to make international arrangements in the many countries we use each Summer, complete applications received before January 9th, 2024, will have the best chance of being considered for the coming year.

SCHEDULE

Mid-September: Start assembling project list. This process usually continues throughout the Fall.

Mid-Otcober: Start receiving applications. In your application, mention which of the listed project interest you. Note: while the list is nearly complete, a few new projects may still become available.

Early-January: All applications received to this point are assessed for completeness and ranked.

Mid-January: Shortlist is interviewed over Skype and allocation process commences.

Mid-February: Admitted students are announced. All admitted students are notified via email.

Throughout Spring: Contact with host is established. Reading material is assigned. Visa applied for. Travel and housing arrangements are made. If accepted, please read this before you travel.

End-May: 3-day introductory visit. Program Briefing. Meet other students. Present you understanding of your proposed project.

June-July: Work in lab abroad. Usual duration, 9-10 weeks.

Early-August: Debriefing Meeting. Research presentation and submission of written report. Final payment authorized.
