Pierre Ramond is recipient of the 2020 Dirac Medal and Prize

The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics has announced that the 2020 Dirac Medal and Prize has been awarded to UF Physics professor, Pierre Ramond, along with Andre Neveu (U. Montpellier) and Miguel Virasoro (U. Rome Sapienza). These distinguished physicists are being recognized “for their pioneering contributions to the inception and formulation of string theory which introduced new bosonic and fermionic symmetries into physics.”

Since 1985, the ICTP’s Dirac Medal has been awarded each year on August 8, the birthday of Paul Dirac, “to scientists who have made significant contributions to theoretical physics.” This year’s recipients join an illustrious group of past winners.

Congratulations to Pierre on this well deserved award!
