Physics graduate student is recipient of the Association for Academic Women’s STEM Scholar Award

UF Physics graduate student Alexandria Tucker has been selected by the Madelyn Lockhart Dissertation Awards Committee to receive the 2021 Association for Academic Women’s (AAW) Emerging STEM Scholar Award. She will be awarded $1,000, supported by the National Science Foundation PECASE Award. This award was dedicated to support extraordinary female students completing their dissertation in STEM who have contributed to creating a more inclusive and diverse community.

This award was established to honor Dr. Madelyn Lockhart, who served as Dean of the Graduate School and Dean of International Studies and Programs at the University of Florida from 1985 to 1993, and who aided students in many ways, including implementation of this Fellowship program to assist students working on their dissertations.

Congratulations to Alexandria on this well deserved award!
