The following members met by zoom on December 4th J. Yelton, S. Weatherford, P. Hirschfeld, S. Hershfield, X-X Zheng, H. Ray, A. Biswas, T. Saab, R. Castellano, plus alternates B. Xue and D. Tanner.

Having seen the results of the “straw polls”, the committee decided upon a list of faculty to be personally asked if they would be available for full interviews. Once that list is ready, the committee membership will be changed following the procedure set down in the bylaws.

Minutes of meeting of Nov 14, 2025:
John Yelton elected chair of chair search committee Xiao-Xiao Zhang and Heather Ray invited to be full members of the committee It was agreed to perform a straw poll as prescribed by the by-laws. Meeting will be arranged for the week starting December 1, 2025.

The next meeting of the chair search committee will be at December 4, 2025 at 9:45 AM. The agenda is: Discussion on the results of the straw poll and how to proceed in shortening the list of candidates.
