Detecting dark matter coupled to muons and neutrinos

While dark matter coupling to electrons, protons and photons have been well explored, its coupling to muons and neutrinos has been a challenge to study. In the first part of the talk, I present muon g-2 and electric dipole moment measurements as means to detect ultralight dark matter that couples predominantly to muons. I present limits derived from existing g-2 data. Intriguingly, the current muon g-2 anomaly could be explained by pseudoscalar dark matter that induces an oscillating electric dipole moment for the muon. This search is currently being carried out by the muon g-2 collaboration. In the second part, I present a complete cosmological history for a scalar dark matter neutrino coupling and find severe limits from a variety of terrestrial and cosmological observables. Scalar dark matter neutrino interaction comparable to the gravitational force between neutrinos can be ruled out with existing data which surpasses equivalent limits on time variation in scalar-induced electron and proton couplings.
