Detecting terrestrial dark relic traffic jams

Dark relics having large interactions with the standard model or with itself can accumulate terrestrially over the age of the earth leading to massive build-up aka “traffic jams”. This thermalized population at 300 Kelvin is too cold to be visible in traditional direct detection experiments. In this talk I outline a few detection strategies including accelerating this slow dark matter with metastable nuclear isomers and detection using ion traps; the pre-eminent qubits for quantum information science.
