High Energy Seminar: Hualin Mei (UCSB)

Date February 24, 2023 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

What have we learned about the Higgs boson?

Since the discovery of the Higgs boson 10 years ago by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations, its properties measurement have become one of the most important physics goals at the current LHC and future HL-LHC programs. In this talk, I will present a few selected highlights of the Higgs boson properties measurements using the CMS detector, including its mass determination, coupling between the Higgs boson and top quark and a search of di-Higgs production in order to probe the Higgs boson self-coupling. I will also briefly mention the experimental challenges on the detector, in particular the endcap muon system of CMS at the HL-LHC condition, and actions taken to handle them.
