Overview
PHZ 3113 is an introduction to mathematical methods that are useful in theoretical physics. These methods will be applied to physical examples from mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and statistical physics.

Textbook
The course text is Mathematical Methods in the Physical Sciences by
Mary L. Boas (3rd ed., Wiley, 2005). The text is required,
meaning that you will be assumed to have access to it to complete
reading and homework assignments.
