International Summer Research Program in Gravitational-Wave Physics:
Research Experiences for Undergraduates around the world


Thanks to all those who expressed an interest in our program. As of Jan 30th, applications for 2009 are now closed. Current applicants will be notified of the outcome over the next ten days, as arrangements are finalized. If you are interested for Summer, 2010, please check back in the Fall, when we will start accepting applications for next year.

SCHEDULE

Mid-September: Start assembling project list. This process usually continues throught the Fall.

Mid-September: Start receiving applications. In your application, mention which of the listed project interest you. Note: while the list is nearly complete, a few new projects may still become available. (list updated 11/16/09)

Mid-December: Still accepting applications. Allocation process commences, and continues until mid-January.

Mid-January: Admitted students are announced. All admitted students are notified via email.

Throughout Spring: Contact with host is established. Reading material is assigned. Visa applied for. Travel and housing arrangements are made.

Mid-May: 3-day Gainesville visit. Program Briefing. Meet other students. Present you understanding of your proposed project.

June-July: Work in lab abroad. Usual duration, 8-10 weeks.

Mid-August: Back to Gainesville. Debriefing. Research presentation and submission of written report. Final payment authorized.
